A friend and fellow employee is driving from one of our Florida operations here to Tucson. He called prior to leaving Florida to inquire as to the possibility of, "having some of that brisket that you cooked when you lived in Texas."

I had to reply in all honesty that, "it won't be possible." My statement was made with both a heavy heart and with pre-planned despair in my voice.

He asked, "Why?"

I replied, "No Hickory."

Him: "Can't you get Hickory in Tucson?"
Me: "Nope."
Him: "Where do you get it?"
Me: "Texas."
Him: "I'm driving through Dallas. Can I get some there?"
Me: "Nope."
Him: "Well...where can I get it?"
Me: "Fort Worth."
Him: "Done. Half-cord be enough?"
Me: "Yep."

God Bless friends that have been seduced by the smoke.

Great story,
and further proof that-
no matter where you go,
there you are.

It really shows you who your real friends are..
Some people that I chat with on Paltalk found out my Bday is in a few weeks, and know that I am a little disabled wanted to send me a RD trip ticket to there House in AZ. to come spend a couple weeks there just to get away. never met them before. but have chatted to them for over 7 years....

Let me know the next time he's coming thru Texas and I can probably rustle up some hickory for free. I live about 20 miles N. of I-20 in East Texas.

She chuckled...

That was a first. Thanks for the story.

 I'm so desperate for some logs of Mesquite, I'm thinking of burning up the rest of my vacation and trucking it on down to TX just to get some.
