Smoked some spares on Labor Day on my new Beer Can. They were on for about 6 hours at a steady 235. I used a rub and sprayed them every 45-60 mins. Sorry... no sliced pics, everyone was hungry.

I don't recall if this was ever mentioned in the epic UDS thread, but the smell that comes from the barrel as it is cooking is AMAZING!!! I can actually smell the food rather than just smoke. Every time I went out to my patio, I got hungrier and hungrier.... thinking "When will they be done? They smell soooo good!!"

I think my wife won't mind if I bbq more often now, knowing that the whole house will not smell of smoke anymore.

Pics are here... http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1014945&postcount=4032

I loaded them up to the Brethren Photobucket last week, and all photo/media sharing sites have since been blocked at work .

Them ribs sure look mighty fine. I was able to view these pictures but when I went to your build forum to look at your construction pictures they would not display. I don't understand how I can view some and not others. Must be different ways of posting.

I loaded these pictures to the forum, the others are on Photobucket. I have the same problem when I'm at work... which is the only time I really get to come on here (the wife and kids keep me busy in the evenings and weekends).

The UDS maintains that "smell" better than any other cooker I have. I once left my out the next day and while it was sitting in the 100 degree heat it smelled so awesome...

Not to jump the thread, but, reminds me of a friend in high school who about 20 years ago worked in a BBQ joint smoking meat. He would walk home after work. By the time he was about a block from home there would be as many as 5 or 6 dogs following him home.

I posted a link to my smoker pics on the first page of this thread. I think they're on p. 269 or 270 on the UDS thread.

Get yourself a barrel and start building. Simple, easy and fun to make. And AMAZINGLY EASY to cook on!!
