But then again, your food must taste real good if they are willing to pay although they're guinea pigs.

Which rub will reign supreme...???

Smoke and Spice's "Southern Succor"...or Dr BBQ's "Big Time BBQ Rub"...???

And the winner is (by unanimous decision)...

Thanks folks...it was fun! :-P I saved the au jus from each butt in the red cups for the guys and gals at work to mix back in when they re-heat.

There was quite a bit of difference in the two rubs...the Southern Succor was heavy on the pepper and paprika and light on the salt...whereas Dr BBQ's had a nice balance of sweet, heat, and herbs. It's my all purpose go to rub that I tweak for whatever I'm smoking.

I actually filled it up twice during the smoke...the higher heat boiled it away pretty quickly.

How did you like how the New 22.5 cooked? How much fuel did it go through? Did you do any mods to it before the cook? Tell us about the cooker right out of the box and what someone could expect. I have a buddy that is looking to get a new cooker and I told him they are the way to go.

I like it a lot...especially for ribs. The only mod I did was to add spacers to the leg bolts so the charcoal grate does not hit the vent tabs and wire the charcoal grate to the ring. Some folks just snip off the tabs. I did an 8 hour burn @ 275 on a single load of charcoal (top of the ring). The temps started falling off after about 8 hours...I was burning Stubbs briqs. Right out of the box all you need to do is check the thermometer for accuracy in some boiling water...then rock-n-roll! :-P

Great job and play by play Thanks

Thanks bro...and you're welcome! :-P

I'm thinking if we're going to be running them wet, we may want to get one of the stainless steel bowls from Costco, like the one that came with the Cajun Bandit-its deeper and will hold more water for those long burns.
