I know hickory and some of the other standard woods are sold at local home improvement stores but where would I go to find fruit woods like apple, cherry etc or some other "non-standard" varieties?

Thanks!

Find a local tree trimming company and bring the boss a rack of ribs!

Do you have any places around that sell BGE's or high end smokers? They usually keep the stuff around here. My closest Egg dealer has a whole wall stacked with chips and chunks and another wall covered with rubs and sauces. I'm lucky though, my butcher is also a comp bbq guy so he keeps bags at the butcher store too!

Also, early in the season Lowe's and Home Depot have them here and I have seen several posts about Do-It-Best having them and you can order off the website and ship it to a store near you for free...

Dp you have any Orchards there in Del.?
Go to one and ask if they have some trims, they usually give it away-or-a small charge. All they can say is, No. Maple is a good wood too, and there is most likely some growing near you!If not, try getting at Lowe's,Home Depot,Wally World or so...

Found my pecan, apple, and cherry on Amazon. I get my guava wood (reserved in my house for spareribs only) at http://www.hawaiiguava.com/
