I's be shocked if this discussion hasn't been had before, but I've only been here less than a week.

For use in a Weber kettle and/or WSM, what is the fuel of choice, biquettes or lump?

And which brands?

Let the debate begin!

What I have, or what's on sale!

First, welcome to the Brethren!
Secondly, I use lump in my BGE, but briquettes in my kettles. Why, because around here (probably elsewhere, too, I guess) lump is more expensive and the kettles don't require lump like the EGG does. Also, I usually use charcoal with mesquite or hickory mixed into the briquettes, if I can get it. If not, I use plain charcoal and add the wood of my choice in chunks. Around here, the most popular and easiest to find is Kingsford.
I'll be interested to see the other responses, too.

I use it all, briquettes, lump and wood. They all work great, and my choice is random as to what I am using, except, when I am at sister's house, they have loads of alder fire wood which works great in the Weber.
