Hey all I'm building an offset smoker/bbq out of 6x8x18 block. Do these sizes sound ok. The fire box is 16" wide and 24" tall and the meat rack side is 16"wide and 40" tall. I plan on an 8x15 flue for the draft. The opening from the firebox to the rack side is on the bottom and is one block so it ends up 8" high 6" wide and 24" long. Does this sound like it will work? I can adjust sizes somewhat(by blocks). Is the opening on the bottom ok. I just looked at barrel units and came up with that.
Thanks for your input
Mike

I like to be able to have at least 21" of racks in one direction, so you can lay whole racks of ribs flat.
