Picked up a butt to do the quick method described at http://www.kickassbbq.com/Quick_Cook_Boston_Butt.htm. This thing is 9-1/2lbs. Questions:
Should I cut it in half to do the quick method?
Would it be better to cut it in half and freeze half for later or freeze left overs?
Just a family of 4 here.

I like to keep mine whole. Even though we are a family of 4, we just vacuum seal and freeze some of it for easy reheating later. But as far as the quick cook method, I haven't do that so I wouldn't know.

So the leftovers are good after freezing?

You may end up with 5 to 5 1/2 lbs finished product. Freeze in 1 lb packages. That's good for a couple of good meals.

Well, before I read the fine advice from those with experience, I cut it in half and put the other half in the fridge.
The question now is: Should I smoke the other half Monday, or would it be okay to freeze that half?

Make it now, or freeze it and practice again another time!
