Is this worth $100?

I dunno. I think the guy should pay you a bit more than $100 to take it off his hands....

it's lookin like a lot of work. a lot more than a few hunnert bucks worth. I mean, why not buy a new one and just bring it up to your standards - seems like less effort and maybe more value to having something you want in the end. just sayin.

A new one at Char-Broil is only $300 and I dunno, maybe it's not the same material as the old NB version, but I think if you figure that you want to bring it up to your standards...you may be ahead. money time and overall satisfaction-wise.

Hmmm. I'm thinking $100 is a bit high. You'd still have to add the baffle and clean the thing up; howeverm, if the bottom of the verticle is as bad as it looks you wouldn't have to do a drain-mod!

PM brauma. He got one about that rough (free) cost him 2 cases Coronas to get Troutman to "modify" it. He is smoking a few butts a huge brisket and some fatties in it righttchy now. May be worth 25, but 100 is pretty steep. 2 cases of good beer will set you back another 30 bucks or so. just saying.....

I say $40 tops.. He would be lucky to get $10 at scrap for it. for $100, he better be delivering it over the state line with a topless dancer along for entertainment!

^^^^^ yeah what he said..

Im never one to turn down a bandera rescue, especially a vintage New Braunfels. A little rust is no big deal, but that baby needs work, especially the bottom of the smokebox.. if its as bad as it looks, it may be beyond repair. I would offer no more than $50 and thats with a visual to ensure its just surface rust.

I sold mine for $100 after giving it a nice overhaul.

I gave mine away, and it was in much better shape than that.

50 bucks max. Keep lookin, you'll find one in way better shape for less than 100. I paid 75 for one last year and it was in excellant condition.

Yea, I think I'll pass on that Bandera. Thanks for the advice.

Hate to disagree with you Poob but no NB Bandera is beyond repair. Mine was collapsed in on itself and we fixed it. Its like the 6 million dollar man now. Catsass!

Speaking of the repair, I need to get in touch with Troutman. He was the guy who fixed it and he was the first Brethren I ever met. My first experience with how true Brethren treat each other.

Here she was with new metal before I bolted it back together:
