I'm looking for stove rope, dope rope, oven rope or whatever else will work to seal my cooking chamber. I want the oven door seal/gasket, but can't find what I'm looking for. I've found a hit or two online, but just not what I'm looking for. Or, would some sort of epoxy/caulk be better. Give me your thoughts. Thanks!

Ace hardware, Home Depot, Fireplace and woodstove dealers all have it.

say is it for the Traeger? if so it actually needs the air space, so I am told

if not how about some the copper/orange stuff at home depot, and use a wax paper with pam on the door so it will not stick (test first, I just heard/read to use wax paper with pam)

Lowes carries 1300 degree silicone stove gasket (caulk tube) I use this on my builds.

IMHO; what works best is fiberglass rope embedded in a bead of red silicone cement.

I use Rutland fiberglass rope gasket on my BGE, fastened with the Rutland black glue that you have to cure. It's worked great for the last few years. You can get it at Ace Hardware.

Yes-it's for the Traeger. So... maybe the leakage I'm getting is by design? I assumed sealed would be better? I don't want to seal it up if it's going to affect the temps. Anyone else have info on this - to seal the Traeger or not?
Also, thanks for all the recomendations.

What he said. I've bought a bunch of it from these guys. Don't forget the cement. The last time I bought the adheive backed gasket kind, but I haven't tried it yet. It is supposed to handle the temps though.
