View Full Version : MOFO Brisket Chili Wins

So, Saturday my wife asked if I would make some chili for her to take to work on Thursday. She is an engineer at the city. No problem, I make stuff for her to take to the office all the time. Well, I smoked a brisket on Tuesday while cooking for my company's employee picnic ( 15 butts and 50 spares ) and made the chili last night. She called me today at lunch and told me that the chili was for a cook-off that public works department was having and that hers won !!! :shock: Now she gets tomorrow off, with pay, and will represent the city at another cook-off next week. She didn't even make the damn chili, I did.

Anyway, thanks to Jeff in KC for posting the recipe. It is great.

Congrats on the success! The last time I smoked a brisket in my UDS, I sliced the flat and used the point for chili. The chili was outstanding.

We have a tradition going back to my childhood of having homemade chili on Halloween. So, this year I am SO making the MOFO brisket chili! Got the point frozen from last weekend's briskie cook, plus there is some leftover shreds in the fridge (will go ahead and freeze that, if it's not gone by the time I get home today). Totally looking forward to it.
