BGE Apple Pie Photos

I had some locally grown apples, so it was time to bake some pie! I got the XL BGE up to about 400 or so, and get it ready for pie baking! The very slight smokiness from Humphrey lump was a welcome addition to apple pie.

Of course I make the crust! :) It's very easy, and directions are on my blog at blog.buckymcoinkumsbbq.com.

It's the simplest recipe I've used for making a pretty good crust. I don't buy crust, ever, because it's easy enough to do and much better this way.

Never quite acquired the taste for apple pie and chesse. But that apple pie and ice cream looks farking fantastic.

I really hope you can tell me what the name of that apple is. We used to have one of those trees. It starting going back and my dad tried to save it by planting several "signs". None of them survived.
