My Pop turned 57. I smoked a prime rib in his honor. Invited a few family members over. My BIL who works at a slaughter house brought a nice piece of rib roast. 7 bone. I used the last three bone section for the roast, the rest of it we cut into boneless steaks. I stuffed sliced garlic and fresh rosemary into all the "natural crevices" in the roast, between the fat and the meat, rubbed with Pappy's Prime Rib rub. I also made a stuffed pork tenderloin with spinach, onions, bacon, rosemary, and wrapped in bacon. The second pork tenderloin I smoked "as is", with some salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder rub. I also made some stuffed mushrooms (with immitation crab, cream cheese and topped with cheese and garlic powder) and some twice baked potatos. I also bought some beef short ribs.

All in all, it was a good bit of food. I started a bit late on it, my kids had a 1:30 football game. They lost their fourth game in a row. Our record is now 0-4, but they actually scored their first touchdown! We were excited about that. Most of the team are first year players, including my two boys. My oldest is a linebacker, had like 6 great tackles. My second oldest got to play a little defense, he had a clothes line tackle also. They were pretty excited. I keep telling them its about learning and having fun; they get it. Anyways, more reason to celebrate.

Because I strarted so late, I had lots of hungry people waiting anxiously, but patiently. I kept hearing it was worth the wait. So I think I did okay. I also kept throwing some apetizers at them. The stuffed mushrooms, then some sliced Big Fatties. Here are some pictures.....

I remembered to take a quick snap of the mushrooms...

Man what a great looking spread. And you've got the right life - it's all about family and friends enjoying great food together. Wall street might crumble and all that other stuff - but family is what we have. thanks for sharing.

Good to see a bottle of Cazadores made it's way into the works! By any remote chance is the young lady with curly hair, glasses, black sweater, and blue top name 'Claudia'? She looks strikingly similar to someone here in the office.
