The October issue of Gourmet Magazine has a fantastic article on the history of Santa Maria style BBQ. It's all about the Hitching Post II restaurant.

For those who enjoy reading about BBQ this might be a good magazine to pick up.

I've got a new place to eat at someday.

I love The Hitching Post but Their prices went crazy after Sideways came out. I usually go to The Far Western in Guadalupe when I'm on The Central Coast.

All their prices at the local steak houses here are out of control!! Half the time, the meat is too rare. Very tasty but occasionally too much oak flavor, ruins the taste of the meat!
