Finally found time to get started on my UDS.

Thanks to all the ideas here, I'm incorporating a number of them.

Still have a lot to do before it's finished.

Like the cart idea. I had some ribs on Sunday and it started to sprinkle for a minute. My first thought was I should have come up with a way to move it while cooking if need be. Luckily it didn't keep raining. Looks good so far. Keep us updated with progress pics.

I'm taking a lot of pictures as I go.

Steel caster wheels under the front. It's about 2 inches off the ground and moves around very easily. Old lawn mower wheels on the back. I don't throw anything away. :-D

4 double 3/4 air intakes will be covered by a spinning steel strip, totally adjustable. Probably overkill, but so what?

The barrel is upside down. The removable top, now bottom, will come off for easy clean out.

I have most everything located, drilled, installed, and then un-installed for paint, so right now it just a barrel with a bunch of holes in it.

nope, painted a few parts this evening. Friday is my day off.

Biggest task left is to burn the interior coating out.

I always liked "mag" wheels.
