Saw water in the UDS. Dumped it and fired it up to 300 good or bad idea?

Dry is good. I air dry my UDS in the direct sun after use.

After i dump my ashes,i take the hose pipe and wash the inside out real quick,dump the water and fire it up,i haven't had any problems with mine.

mine leaks through the hole i drilled for my exhaust pipe when it rains

(2" pipe in the middle of the lid, no top bung)

i got some high temp RTV sealant from the parts store and put a good bead around the top and that fixed that

i wouldnt put it on the underside of the lid cause i dont think its safe
