Temps dropped quite a bit tonight. Maybe the highs in Hesperia will stay under triple digits after all we will be on asphalt. Neil and I are doing the cooking by ourselves but we have lots of volunteer help which is much appreciated.

I haven't made up my mind on a potluck contribution. I just know it will not be a dessert.

Bigmista

I am going to blow thru Texas and be back Thursday night. Maybe I'll get an idea for Pot luck while I am there.

I'm going to have to come up with a super new injection to beat Bentley and all of the other great teams there. Wonder how a curry injection would go over?

That's scary, especially since I know you don't mean Sylvie Curry's special recipe.

Larry, Nick and Emily...BLQ, man cutting edge BBQ is right!
Congrats on your most recent win at Hesperia!

QN4U aint got nothing on you!

For you Brethren that dont know, BLQ has taken 4 of the last 6 Grand Championships in CA since Vejais last October....That my friends is impressive!

And I have the honor of having Larry stay with us in August...Wonder if he talks BBQ in his sleep?

Hot and Windy in Hesperia.
The heat hit Bently pretty bad, as he spent much of his free time watering the asphalt trying to grow a lawn. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3108/2619448975_075bc6508a.jpg

BLQUE is about as hot a team right now as there is. No doubt about that. And their odds of getting drawn for The Jack from California are getting better and better.

Congratulations to Larry, Nick and Emily on another fine performace!

QN4U aint got nothing on you!

Let's not get carried away there, Bent. Four consecutive CBBQA Team of the Year Awards isn't anything to sneeze at.

That was an inside joke from Stagecoach. Some lady though Brian in SoCal was Notley Que's dad. We've been calling him Dad ever since.

If you ever get the chance to participate in a contest where you can sell your samples, I highly recommend it. We sold 2oz samples and made about $700 in 2.5 hours. Ask your promoters to add this to your contests. It is worth it plus you get to interact with crowd.

The Hespeia City and Hesperia Park and Rec Plus San Berdardino Co Health Dept were just great to work with
Guys adding the "Taste of Championship BBQ " to your event will really help
Examples 4Q $700, some of the others that were open a short time did $200 ish

Hesperia was a great expedience! It was great to hang with Neil and Silvie while they competed. thank you for letting me hang out and see this inside look at competition. I loved it!

It was nice to meet Star-B-Que, Thom , and NotleyQue and his dad.
Thanks for the grape wood, Thom. I met so many of the other teams that it will be hard to keep the names right. but everyone was having a great time , as did I. NorcoRedneck made an appearance on his rocket propelled motorcycle (I'm sure there are fab pics somewhere)

The City of Hesperia and Hesperia Parks and Recreation people were enthusiastic and energetic , they really got into and behind this event.
From the mayor on down it seemed like all of Hesperia was overjoyed to have great BBQ and those that make it in their town!
I love Hesperia!

The "Taste of Championship BBQ " was amazing and great fun! the crowds loved the food and it added alot to the entire event.

Side note: Not sure I should mention this, but the judges tent was set up directly behind our site. As it was empty all night and the structure was very sound blocking the high intensity winds of Hesperia, it made for a perfect sleep site for a couple of our crew. We were out before any of the Hesperia Recreation Department arrived in the morning to complete the set up for the judges.

Also, I want to place a special "shout out" to the guys from the Hesperia grounds crew for taking care of assuring we had water and electricity readily available.

I also appreciated the short walk (actually only a couple of steps) it took to make our turnins.
