some friends of mine asked me to cook for their 17th annual golf classic. so i loaded up three eggs and headed to the cottage at the state park

Rick

you are as skilled with the pictures as you are with the food.

as always you pic the right food for the occasion , and the right shot to show it off

location location location are three words you aways seem to remember

location where to place the eggs - look at it serene and peaceful , the eggs almost blending with the nature that surrounds them

location where to place the subject so that you can draw in from the surroundings to add extra life and spirit to the shot

location where you should shoot from to get the best framing possible , no squared off shots, if it's in frame Rick meant it to be there.

fantastic!
Thanks for sharing

someone asked me for the boat eggs recipe, so here it is............

the main recipe is boat eggs. anything less or more and it's not boat eggs. got that?
________________________________
boat eggs:
one pound sausage (use a smoked fatty!)
one can of chopped green chilies
one package bob evans hash browns
8 to 10 eggs
2 cups shredded cheese

serve with sausage gravy (i use bob evans here too) and pace medium salsa

egg at 350 dome, direct

brown sausage in cast iron skillet. (chop up smoked fatty and heat)
add green chilies and fresh ground black pepper.
add hash browns and two tablespoons of butter. stir to mix well. cook till hash browns on the bottom begin to turn brown.
add eggs over top of mixture and stir to fold in eggs, kind of scrambling them into the mix. heat till eggs are set.
add cheese over top and when it melts, it's done. about 1:15 total time from beginning to end
_______________________________

the batch in this post was a double batch in a 15.25" skillet and i added onions and green peppers so it truly wasn't boat eggs!

Boat egg recipe noted and printed. My wife has been wanting me to cook a breakfast outside. I don't think that is what she had in mind diet wise, but that's what she's getting!

Opening this thread and drueling over my keyboard before lunch has got to have some adverse effects, other than my hunger shot up.

Great spread. There were some very lucky golfers that day. Screw the score, let's eat.

Oh great, now I need another new keyboard, I drooled all over this one too. This site is starting to become dangerous to my wallet. I've ruined 3 keyboards in the last 2 weeks looking at pictures of food!

great pics and food. Can you share any details on how you cooked that prime rib roast? Temps, time, etc?

that was two 7 bone export ribs, cut in half with one 4 bone and two three bones on the large and one four bone on the medium egg. both at about 300-325 for about 3.5 hours with jack daniels oak barrel chips till 120 internal. i cut off the bones and trimmed them up a bit then seasoned and tied the bones back on for the cook. when they were done, i put the bones back on for about an hour to get the inside done. everyone was pretty impressed and more than one said those were the best shrimp they have ever had
