I'm STILL on the hunt but i'm getting closer. Went to a few 'boot' (swap meet)sales today and returned with some alloy cookwear for camping but no Weber.

As good of shape as that's in, I think I would refurb.

Nice! Try to spiff it up with some fine steel wool. I've had a couple that were a dull grey, probably sun bleached and tried bring it back to black with no success. You'll have to drill out the rivets on the handle and drill a center hole for a new one. Get the plastic handle, the wood ones won't seat securely. Nice score Bubba!

Thanks bro. any idea how to date the older models?
No pic of the inside but looks like it was cooked on very rarely, still shiny inside!

I called Weber CS to try to get a date on the Red Bar-B-Q-Kettle I had and they were unable to give me an answer. Mine had steel wheels and three 4 hole daisy wheel vents in the bowl, all they could say is it was pre 1978.
