Me either, must be a CA area thing. However our Krogers still have $.97/lb briskets.

Hey Brian,
Nice find and good luck. Just a heads up, Safeway had a .99lb special on boxed ribs, 10lb box for 9.90. I went hog wild and bought 3 boxes. They came frozen and I didn't do an inspection at the store. When we got them home, I immediately thawed one box and when we ate them they had a little bit of an off flavor. Nothin wrong with them and all but they just tasted a little different. We finished off the ribs and now when I see those deals, I am a little more picky for that reason.

Don't be pissed! The Costco ribs are better for comps!
Use the Albertsons for home.

edit: If you are just practicing then you may go back to being pissed :tongue:

Seen ribs offered at my Albertsons and they were the same ones as about a month ago. A little fatty but still ok, for practice.

Yea, They tend to be a little fatty, not to bad though. I just trim them and smoke. Use for family and friends, also P.C.

Don't use for comps.

Went this morning at 6 a.m. Butcher was just bringing them out. He let me have 2 cases instead of the 2 pack limit.

16 racks of spares for $80.41. Not to bad, huh?

Real decent racks! And no 2-pack minimum. This is not their "Club price", so no card needed. I just bought 10 packs @ about 12 lbs per package!! Woo hoo...freezer's stocked...for a week.

I dont know if you are asking what Danish ribs are...They are usually a smaller cut BB, supposly they feed the hogs feed that is fish based, I know I have had a few and they do have a weird aftertaste!

Thanks Big Mista for the call. Unfortunatly started work at 5:00 am and my albertsons does not open until 6:00. Sent my wife at her lunch though and bought the last three packs they had. The butcher told her they would have more in the morning though.

Will be at the store tomorrow when they open to get some more.

what exactly are pork brisket bones - ran intothem at walmart mixed within the spares - looked like they only had a few bones on one end but flat and not to wide like an almost boneless slab?

$2.29 at Costco JD? WTF, I got some baby backs at the Fife Costco yesterday and they were $3.29! Looked at a $46 brisket (16#) and passed on it.
