Cool, that search feature sure is handy. Wish I would have thought about that.

BTW, am I the only one who can't access the page to get to the brethren recipes? If I am, can someone post the url?

Harbormaster, does it look something like this:

Here's my $.02 on coleslaw. This is a basic recipe I use that gets rave reviews. Tweak as you like.
Head of cabbage about 1 1/2 lb
1/4 C Cider vinegar
1 T granulated sugar
1 t celery seed
1 t kosher salt
1/2 t black pepper
3/4 cup mayo
1 T Dijon mustard (Grey Poupon is best)

Core and thinly slice the cabbage.
Mix all other ingredients together
Mix cabbage and dressing, tossing to coat evenly. Refrigerate for at least an hour.

BTW no slaw recipes but I am rather fond of the basic one that comes on a pack of slaw. The only thing I add is 1t of celery seed to it.

We picked this one up while living in N.C.
Make a sauce of equal parts tomato ketchup, water, and vinegar, add salt & pepper, and worchestershire to taste and pour over grated cabbage. We usually marinate overnight in the refrigerator and drain well before serving. Great with Q.

Found it in one of the attached links. You posted it a year or so ago.

I really like this one (I make it without the oil usually). It's a nice one for hot days as there's no mayo

These are from the Jack Daniel's old time Barbecue cookbook by Vince Staten. (with an Elder Ward twist)

Bring all to a boil and pour over cabbage mixture and chill overnight.

I've noticed that no one puts chopped apple in their slaw:?:. Guess it's just a regional thing. You ought to try it though, it gives a nice sweet taste that makes you wonder what it was:cool:
