View Full Version : Attention KC Brethren! Anyone want some pecan?

I will probably be heading back to KC in a couple of weeks from Plano.
I was at Academy Sports the other day and noticed large bags of pecan, also mesquite, for 10.00 bucks a bag. I am planning to grab a few bags for myself and my father-in-law. I just thought before I headed back I would see if anyone else wanted me to grab them some pecan or mesquite? Just let me know, I will have plenty of room.

I dont recall, but I was impressed with what you got for 10 bucks compared to what you can get at Backyard Bash.

Curious, how much does the $10 bag weigh?

I will have to check on it. I have bought boxes of wood from Backyard bash for more, I would say 3 boxes would be needed to fill the bag. I will check on the weight tomorrow after work.

If I remember correctly the bags weigh about 50 pounds. I hauled 3 of them from Austin Texas to No. Cal.

Went back to Academy, the bags dont list the weight but do say 1.5 cubic feet. A good guess at weight would be 30-40 lbs. From the wood I have been buying, 10 bucks for one of these bags is a good price. I am probably going to pick up 10-15 bags (it wont spoil so what the heck) before I head back. If anyone would like some just let me know.

Not to hijack but I'll do it anyway... I'll be down there over Easter weekend... Can I pick them up then??? Anyone want to get together for lunch on Saturday????

Jeff, If I am back by then, I should be, consider them a gift from the Easter Bunny.:biggrin: I would consider it an even trade for the buck board bacon that Santa brought.
