Here's my $125 Large BGE form CL. Was trolling on Friday and jumped on it. Came with tables, nest, etc and has a new firebox as well! Better to be lucky than good sometimes.
One small crack on the lid as shown - Repair ideas?
The jockeybox was a "gift" from a friend for helping reorg his storage. Never used, and I'm thinking keg hookup for the next shindig at Rancho Rocke!

I thought I got lucky when I bought my egg (used 2 times) on craigslist for $400, but damn that is a steal.
You might want to post on the BGE forum about fixing the chip.

What a fantastic find...congratulations! :-P Here's a tip on ceramic repairs from the BGE website...
One of the EGG's ceramic pieces has a crack. What should I do?
The fire ring and fire box often develop superficial fissures or small cracks. This is due to normal aging of ceramics and will not affect the cooking results or durability of your EGG. Should the ceramic ever break apart, it can usually still be used for cooking until a repair can be made. Any of our ceramic parts can be easily repaired with the use of a heat resistant epoxy. Look for a high temperature, non-toxic epoxy, available at most home center or hardware stores. Follow the instructions that come with the product. The repaired part should be ready within a few hours.
Good luck and enjoy your egg...

Great score! Congrats! I remember seeing something on the Egg forum about a way to fix cracks/chips. Search there or ask and someone will have the scoop.

Dang nice score!!!!
I don't know anything about the eggs, but would it be feasible to put a line of superglue around that crack on the top to keep it from popping off completely? Just a thought.

That's an awesome price! For that money, even if you had to replace the dome, you would be far ahead. Congratulations, and let's see some pron!

jb weld is usually the recommended crack repair material. you can get green paint from the big green egg headquarters in atlanta or maybe try a local egg dealer.
the naked whiz has repair procedure on his webpage here (http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicrepair/ceramicrepair.htm)

Amazingly calm - May have had something to do with the Xmas present I bought her this year. Seriously, she rolled her eyes and asked me what I was going to cook on this bbq. (I'll tell her grilled cheese) Thanks buddy!

K - I will need Co2, and will need to retrofit one of the supply lines for a keg attachement. Right now it's set up for soda. Going to go by Ace Fixture today and see what I can find.
