OK all you Q experts time for another question...

I understand that woods used for smoking with give the meat various tastes, some better than others and I also understand the woods burn at a certain BTU...

Is there a resource that someone can recommend that can give me an idea what woods are good for smoking (and which ones aren't) and what BTU each wood can produce...

I usually only use Hickory in what I do, but I would like to experiment with others...

here is a BTU rating on wood... but if you're using it for flavor and unless your running a gigantic smoker... I don't think the BTU's really matter.

Yes, you can mix... just don't tell the food.

A lot of folks mix. When I was using a stick burner I always used a mixture of oak and either apple or peach.
