Another sunday pron thread. I picked up a pack of butts yesterday, 1 was about 9 pounds and the other was only about 3~4 pounds when all trimmed up.

How was the cook time per pound for the little one versus the big one? I found that for some reason, the little ones take longer per pound for me.

I didnt check the little one until the big one got to 190* and at that point the little one was 200-205*. So it took about 12 hours to reach that point at a temp of ~240* on the cookshack.

Interesting that with a bark like that, a smoke ring isn't as noticeable on the pulled product. Looks good and moist.
I want that. Looking good. Nice bark on it:icon_bigsmil

I have noticed this as well, little butts take disproportionally long. This is one reason that I like big butts and I can not lie.

You don't get a smoke ring with the cookshack normally..I could if I put a piece of charcoal in the firebox with the wood but since the smoke ring doesn't effect the taste I don't bother. In the co-op I am in right now they only allow electric grills so I have to use the cookshack..Not that I mind though as there is no fire to tend, just set it and forget it. :-P
