A couple of years ago I got a side of bacon from my slaughter house and they cold smoke them with hickory and maple. We liked them so much that we gave some out to some friends in packs in place of Christmas cookies and well, the tradition has spread. For friends and family in town 2-3 days before Christmas I spend 5 hours delivering close to 30 of these packs so they will have them for Christmas morning breakfast.

Great tradition. If I had that much bacon, I would be giving out pig candy.

I'm guessing that being as it's 1767 miles from Westerville, OH to Logan, UT and add the fact that we don't know each other, well i'm probably not on the delivery list am I??? Wish I was though... Great idea for a gift. One of the guys on our Utah board is doing up gift baskets of his homemade rubs and sauces, those look pretty cool too... check 'em out at utahbbq.org sometime.

That's a great idea. My standard rubs are gold for my friends that I give them to. Maybe I should try that next year. Bacon and some rub. That'll be a selective list, though. Gets expensive for all of them.
