Is the far side hotter on the reverse flow? I see you have those chickens on the far side.

There are 2 tru temp gages or either side of door. the one farest from fire read about 12 degrees cooler but that was the same place as my 73et maverick inside and it read the same as firebox side. I did not know this when I loaded it. the reason I loaded it this way was because it was holding 220 nicley and i wanted the hotter side for the chicken.

When I was burnning it out I had good size ones that were cut for outdoor pit.....The ones I have to cook with were really cut for indoor fireplace so the first ones without food went 1 hr. The smaller pcs with food on went 35 to 40 min and took 2 at a time.

DPM,

the jet burner is just a brass pipe cap with a hole drilled in it. This allows you boil that pot in about 3 minutes, but you only get about 4 pots worth before having to change out the bottle!
