I'll wait for the eggmen to check in.

It looks like a Komado without the ceramic tile outside. These ceramic cookers are great! They hold temperatures for a very long time and work well in very cold climates.

I've already fired off email since there isn't a phone number.

I'm about it make someone very dear to me mad!

Yeah. I have that fear. But sometimes I've got to put work a head of smokers. Today is one of those days.

Search Kamado on this forum and you will get good information on refurbishing and parts.

Please tell me I understand you incorrectly. You've had that a month and not used it? You're beggin to get kicked out of the club.

No that would be downright wrong to just let her sit there. I actually used it three times already the first time was the day I got it.

What I was referring to was that she has been PO'd about me buying it for a month but she'll get over it. I have two hobbies Q and dirt biking and everytime I buy something she just rolls her eyes. I have to keep reminding her who the brings home the bacon....

Maybe if you cooked some chicken on that thing she'd get over it...:-D

Integrity of the ceramic material, how well it still seals, any inner cracks!

I just finished taking my wife out to lunch. Over lunch I told about this ceramic smoker thing I saw on craigslist. I told her it was only $70 and with some work I could probably fix it and sell it and make a profit.

Her response: "Sell it? You mean like the other two in the backyard you cook on every weekend."

My response: "Yeah, like those two"

I told her it was only $70...

A wise man once told me, "'Tis easier to ask for forgiveness than beg for permission". Of course his wife probably killed him...

If he was lucky she finished him off, it could be worse if he lived!

Com'on guys. 70 bucks? chump change. Remind your better half that you spent more than that the last time you took her out for a special meal.
You didn't? Shame on you. You should have.
Then you could argue from a position of strength.

Offer him $35 and JB Weld it. Did it have any internal parts?

BBQ Grail

It had everything except the top grate which is easily replaced. I've used JB Weld on lots of things, didn't think of it for this.

A lot of folks use JB Weld, but I just used it on my clay pot base I use in place the water pan in the WSM and it's starting to crack at the joints after 2 cooks.

I prefer the Kamado healing powers of "Hercules High-Temp Furnace Cement" myself!

Is this some kind of twisted haiku? 13-5-5?

No go on the price...

But I just got back from my nightly three mile walk with the wife. I'm starting a new sales job September 1st. And I made a deal with her about income goals. If I hit a given income level by June 30th I can get a new Large BGE. Oh yea...

I love sales contests...

June 30th will probably be a good time of the year for you to get that BGE! You will be happier with an Egg!
Check with Smitty the Smoker at "Eggs By the Bay" in Santa Clara, and find out when the 2008 Eggfest will be, and save yourself some $$ buying one there!
