i cant seem to make it stop...

first is the original we did, Second is one of my co-workers UDS, the third one will be setting around the campfire at deer camp for many years to come and last but not least is for the Chevrolet Body Shop manager.

my wife is a casino dealer so we are working up a casino themed UDS for the house. LOL she wasnt too high on the camo version for home.

Those are bitchen.

I've been thinking about colors besides BBQ black. Are using engine paint or something else that is heat tollerant?

If not, how well is regular paint holding up?

I want to get a custom paint job on mine as well. Can you tell me where you get your paints? Are they heat resistant? The red one looks like it has a clear coat on it , or is that just the camara angle?

I'm just so jealous of you guys that can weld, and now paint! Just quit it already!! Just kidding!
Smooookin, those barrels look awesome! How do they cook! I have access to all the barrels I want, just don't have the skills or space to make more! (wife would kill me mod!)

Practice makes perfect.

If the barrels are free, then just get the wife to agree to let you have two at any given time. Then you got one to smoke on and one to work on. When ever you finish, put the ugliest one up on Graig's list and then start another one.

At least she'll know where you are...

I really like the paint jobs and the logos you got goin', how about some dice or a Royal Flush for the Casino drum? Are you using Hi-Temp paints on them?

most of the paints are high temp paints, 500 or above. we used a laser thermometer on one while it was cooking and it only came up to approx 160 degrees. The red barrel was painted with a red chrome paint. it has been used several times and is holding up well. btw the temp on a car hood in summer time is very close to the barrel temps when cooking. we figured we would try the camo paint for chits and grins, if it doesnt work it is only paint.

we are thinking dice and a royal flush for the casino barrel.

See, I was wondering about that. Turns out I've got a spay gun and a bit of paint left over from another project... (http://picasaweb.google.com/roadracegeek/EFPaintJob)

I am not a paint guy, I am finding out I am not a welding guy either:eusa_clap Are you and Thawley saying that you think an automotive paint would work on the upper part? Or all over? What is a chrome paint?

On my original drum smoker it still has paint that came on drum. I ran it hot a few times and even blast the gunk on inside every now and then and still no blistering.

And I thought I had a problem with my drum building!

Those are great!
Remember, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem!
Myself, I will never admit it!
Smoke on!
