Hi all. I’ve been an observer on here for quite some time. Lots of great people and info. So I finally got approval from my wife to purchase an offset that I’ve been wanting for a while. I decided to go with the Workhorse 1969 and ordered it yesterday. Was wondering from those on here who have them if they’d be willing to give some updates on how it’s going with their workhorse. How’s the pit run? Like does it prefer a certain temp over the other, 250? 275? About what size split seems to work? Is it pretty efficient? Are the temps really that even across the bottom grate? I assume the top grate does run a little hotter? Thank you all!! Have a good weekend!!

Im not sure how many brethren own workhorse pits. I suggest you run a search using the tool at the bottom of the page using workhorse as the search term and you'll get all the previous threads.

Congrats on the workhorse order. I know a few here have them, and a few more on order. Great looking pit, and from what I gather, they work well.

I have a 1969 that supposedly was completed yesterday. The original fabrication date was pushed back by two weeks. I should receive mine in about 3 weeks and will be happy to update when I receive it.
