G'Day Bruces! :becky:
It's been a while since I posted but I just saw the "Asian BBQ" Throwdown come up and I was doing this anyway.
Background is I pimped my shed to a ManCave during COVID and so I now have space for woodworking, welding, working from home, making sausages and biltong, and of course for entertaining.
Here's 2 pics of the setup early last year also with a bit of entertaining going on illegally at the time.

Forward to right now, I have been using this book for a while and the recipies come from Roy Choi who IMHO is a real inspiration (https://www.booktopia.com.au/l-a-son-roy-choi/book/9780062202635.html).
The Kalbi Plate recipe calls for beef asado cut, but I like pork belly so:

And this is why I have an old commercial slicer in the shed: Sliced 1 cm thick.

The Kalbi Marinade is in the book:

This is "Splash" The recipe is in the book although I have modified it a lot now I know the flavor profile I am looking for:

Broke out the camp BBQ and a Korean BBQ plate, with a salad mix, lettuce for wrapping and an avocado for a "cook on the table" Korean BBQ experience. If you do this in the house the smoke goes everywhere!

Wife got home and I invited her into the shed for a casual BBQ dinner for 2:becky:

It was really nice. Let the wife finish off the last few as I'd been snacking earlier. It was a nice evening.
Thanks for looking. I recommend doing this in a shed...just so long as they they understand the ManCave rules...
Cheers!
Bill
