Was able to get a few pics of the beast not to long ago. Got permission from MAK Grills to share :)

The one I have coming will not include the side cold smoke chamber... at least not yet... lol.

I will share more pics and detail once I receive mine and have it positioned and ready for prime time... but in the mean time, check this bad boy out!

Also, check out the last pic of the new model sitting next to the current. Crazy!

You’re going to need more seating for all the additional neighbors that will be showing up!
Might need to find a wholesale Beefmaster as well.
I know you will put it to good use..

I think you'll need shades to cook on that.

Looks awesome to me.

Couple questions...

1. Is the center rack divider removable in case you want to put something large in their, say a hog?

2. Again, for the divider, can you have two different temps on each side?

Yes sir! The center divide is removable and the dual fire pots are individually controlled allowing you to run 2 different temps when the center divide is in place.

Man, with all y’all laying claim on my 2*, I am gonna have to cut it into a dozen pieces so it can be spread out amongst everyone. Do you have a preferred section? ;-)

Beautiful cooker, and again, congrats on being the "chosen one" to test it out. All you need now is a pellet producing sponsor and you're all set.

That is really cool, and I don't know of another pellet cooker that can do that.

That truly is impressive. 2 smoke chambers  I think the next sponsor would be a meat packing company, that's an awful lot of space to fill :-D Congrats again and very well deserved

Meat? Yeah, I'm wondering about pellets: "Cookin' up a couple porkchops, honey, can you hand me another 50lb bag of pellets?" Seriously, I don't know what the energy consumption is, but that is one disadvantage of big pits. I very much like the separate chambers, but would be curious if the walls/lid are insulated and how much more (or less) fuel that takes than a MAK 2.

Incidentally, I'm thinking you'll be needing to dispose of your MAK 2. When should we drive down and pick it up?

Robb,

All kidding aside, I'm quite certain MAK will get a return many-fold from the feedback, insight, and exposure you'll be giving them on this new unit. Looking forward to watching all of this unfold!

Seriously though, that’s one of the reasons I’ll be holding onto my 2 Star. We do a lot of big cooking around here... but it’s always nice to have options :)

That’s a monster. It would be so cool to do a hog on that beast! Having the different zones is awesome too. Better buy pellets in bulk!:)

Wow, that thing is awesome! I was just looking at them online last night when thinking about doing something with built ins when I redo the deck.

Are there other differences between it and the old version other than the divider?

Both versions have the divider. The new is considerably bigger, has the Funnel Flame Zone and offers the cold smoke chamber add-on. Not sure of the small differences until I start to dig into this beast and learn it inside and out. I currently have it setup in our garage. Initial impression has me blown away... and I don’t say that lightly.

I've had a one star for many years. I've been really happy with the customer service and owners. They really care about their image and fix things right away if there is a problem. Great Company and made in the USA. Dallas, Oregon.

Thanks, I realized after posting that the old one did too. It’s hard to tell from the pictures how much larger it is than the old one though it does look like the stand is taller.

I don’t think I’d need the cold smoking box but I can see where the twin fire pot design could make it work a lot better than the one available for my Rectec by helping keep the heat away from it.

Looking forward to more information!

Well since Robb's is already spoken for several times over, let me know when I should borrow a pick-up and head to OK to take Mabel off your hands.

How easily does it move? Thinking trailer for competitions in and out onto grass etc. Maybe some bigger pneumatic tires as an option if it doesn't move too easily on the stock tires.

Also, are the lids insulated? Looks like they might be?
