I decided to make some beer and butter brats for the wife and I tonight and wasn't sure what to make for the kids.

They like pepperoni. They like bacon. They like hot dogs. So here's the birth of the bacoroni dog. Six or so slices in the hot dog, half a pepperoni in each slice, wrap tight in bacon, then grill, turning frequently.

I must say, they were pretty good!

That's the kind of kid food that needs its own jingle.

Bacaroni Dogs .....Not sure what to say.... Interesting

Only an Ash-hole team member could think of this... Did they at least get to eat it on a bun ??

Family trip to the cardiologist on the weekend I presume ??

I bet those kids had a smile on their faces eating it... Priceless.

Wonder if you could do substitute the hot dog for fish sticks?

They LOVED em. And, yes, they did get to eat em on a bun.

Dig it,
"Bacoroni went to town, riding on a pony....
or
"Hey Bacoroni!"

Yah know I actually considered putting slices of cheese between each pepperoni but figure the melt factor would make it too messy. They thin bacon wrapped around it really held together well. You could probably add cheese at the end...

Back to real cooking tomorrow with a bone-in pork tenderloin.

When you're young enough to eat it all.
And not worry about cholesterol.

What do you eat?

Bacaroni dogs!!!

Ditto!

I don't have any kids young enough to make em for. Oh well, will have to make em for myself so I know how for future grandkids...those look awesome.

I have a six year old judge just walked by the monitor and asked if I will make them tomorrow afternoon. She gave them a perfect 10. I can see a bacaroni dog in her future.
