I'm sure I'm late to this party but Chud's BBQ videos on YouTube are utterly addicting. Very creative and he is freakin funny and to the point. Can't get enough!

Yep, Tuesdays are my toughest work day every week and it's been great coming home from work and having a chud video to watch. I've tried a handful of his recipes and everything turns out great.

I'm hoping he can grow the pit business enough to offer shipping. I really want a mini chud pit but i'm a looong round trip from ATX.

I had always cooked brisket fat side down, but I tried the reverse after watching his brisket video. I was pleased by the result

He discovered barbecue in 2015 and began working at Freedman's in Austin. Amazing how working in a barbecue joint can greatly increase the learning curve.

Between cooking that kind of volume in central texas and getting to work with Evan LeRoy he certainly figured it out quick. It's pretty cool what they do at LeRoy and Lewis with the butchery and technique driven menu.

CHUD Makes me think of that cheesy horror flick from the 70's, but the C stands for "Cannibalistic", so not a good food reference ;-)

Need to watch those videos.
Ah, remember the movie well, Cannibalistic Human Underground Dwellers, aka CHUDS!

His energy and enthusiasm are addicting in a way. Cool smokers too.

Cool guy. Pretty much how I've done brisket forever minus the boat. I over-trim and over-season. Cooking fat cap up at the wrap with the flat soaking in juices works very well. I agree with his idea of everything being edible. I hate trimming off hunks of fat from a cooked brisket. I don't watch many bbq videos but I could watch all of his. Thanks!

Yeah he's one of my favorites to watch as well. My obsession with bbq began with restaurants (including Freedmans and Leroy and Lewis) so the fact he brings what they do to the backyard is just awesome. In the near future if he so desires YT and pit building can be his full time job.

H dropped a Texas chili video just now. Quite involved process for sure. I need to try it sometime...my Midwestern chili roots are tomatoes and beans so that Texas red looks like meat sauce to me! He is quite the character for sure

If I was a bettin’ man, he’s going to be very successful whether it’s his own BBQ joint or pit building or both. He’s a little quirky like A Frank and thats a good thing.

I've always made chili with tomato and beans. Last year i tried making a no bean version with dried chili's and it turned out great. I'll admit i still like the version with beans in it, but it's good to have varieties of ways to make things. If i ever move to Texas like i hope to though i might have to quit admitting beans have a place in chili lol.
