10# butt just took me Sunday thru Thursday to thaw for a Thursday cook. Brisket probably longer?

swagging? Full day for every 5 lbs.. If it's still froze a bit, just add some time to the cook.

I would put them both into an empty ice chest. Monitor the temp with a probe. Takes a couple of days. If it thaws sooner I add some ice.

I rarely have room in the fridge for large cuts to thaw.

It really depends on how often you open the door. Unless you are injecting, cooking a half frozen hunk of meat is not a problem.

I always go 4 days just in case 3 won't due. The garage fridge (all fridge designed for garage) it takes more like 4 but, inside main one 3. So 4 :-D 12 hours or so thawed won't hurt

All the years of thawing out the Thanksgiving turkey taught me to put it in the fridge at least four days before the cook, preferably five or six..

When in a hurry I leave it on the counter 1 hour for every pound. Usually does the trick.
