Here's a quick lesson on the dish :becky: In a nutshell, it's eaten by hand, when you bite into it it's supposed to burst with the meat juices. Served with butter on top and black pepper. It's actually to die for so I gave it a go from scratch at home.

Made the dough first. Just flour, water and salt. Simple!

Dough check, meat check, moisture check. Learned a few lessons along the way for the second run but overall it wasn't bad at all. :clap2::thumb:

Looks great! I actually looked into doing these a couple of weeks ago after a Russian guy I know from a cigar site posted about them. I watched a few Youtube videos on making them. Thanks for the post on them and showing us how its done!

Thanks Mike!

Give it a shot. If you get a few hands to help you it'll speed up the process. It's insanely delicious if you like dumplings.

Those look just like Chinese “Xiao Long Bao” aka large soup dumplings. Lucky enough to have several places near that serves them. Bob’s Noodle 66 in Rockville, Maryland being my favorite.

They come meat filled with soup steamed and when you bite into the they burst with soup into your mouth.

You did a fine job!

I'm a dumpling fan! These certainly look good.

Unfortunately, East Texas doesn't have a good source for fresh or frozen 'Asian' or Eastern European dumplings. Vietnamese noodles are sorely missed as well.

I guess I need to either learn to make them myself or find an immigrant grandmother who will 'adopt' me!

Killer b Sako! I love your experiments... and you have officially used your pasta machine one more time than me (yes, I got it more than 4 years ago...) Inspired to bust it out and try using it again!
