I bought this rub about a year ago, and tried it on some beef ribs. It didn't really do it for me (can't quite put my finger on why that is, maybe the sugar?).
Anyway, was about to throw it away, but thought I'd ask...
Anyone uses this on pork (smoked ribs or shoulder) with good results?

Sorry, never tried it.I usually take the rubs that do not impress me and combine them and keep adding other ingredients until it gets to a taste that I like and use them as FRAKENRUBS.You will never duplicate it but it keeps down on waste.

Frakenrubs. I like that idea! I’ve got a pantry full of rubs just begging to be made into something better than what they started as.

I have a large jar in my rub rack that just says "Rub" on the label. It is a combination of anything and everything. Never duplicated, but works well on pulled pork and other basics. You can combine off-the-shelf rubs with other ingredients like different types of sugar, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and other spices to make something tasty.
