Grand Daughter was in from St. Louis (oh yeah, her parents too).

Had a huge Thanksgiving with all trimmings but by Sunday it was time for some beef!

Then time for the fun part, the sear. (Have a movie clip but can't upload it here.)

Results = Amazing for all involved.

Hap, you've really got your SV and sear method down! Those steaks look incredible. Great job on the cook!

If my turkey blues, I throw it out, because we didn’t eat all the leftovers or freeze them in time.

We don’t have any cute granddaughters to help prevent that yet.

...oh you meant a different kind of blues...

Thanks for the kind replies.

Flame thrower sear is the way to go but that thing needs much caution when used. 50K BTU's @ 3000*F.

Those are some nice looking filets. :thumb:

My daughter calls filet mignon her "favorite kind of steak" (though she has no idea what it is) and always asks if it's her "favorite kind of steak" when we have beef steak...which is usually ribeye. It's been a while since I've busted out the weed burner and made everyone greatly concerned for my and their safety. :pile:

Never thought to use the weed burner as a sear for SV (however don't have a SV; might need to put it on the Christmas list).
