And bring your family and friends, to Texas BBQ Brethren Fall Bash 10-26-2019.
The Bash will be at:

Overlook Pavilion at Lake Belton
3110 FM 2271
Belton, TX 76513

It's near Temple TX. Nice location, great facilities and easy in and out. There is a large Pavilion that we will be under with quite a few picnic tables.
With on-site restrooms, electricity and running water at the hose bib. Please go ahead and bring your camp chairs and coolers if you like.

If you want to bring a cooker of any type that's great. If not, we should have space somewhere if you want to bring something to cook.
And if you just want to hang out, possibly have a few adult beverages and partake in some great food and Q, well that's OK too.

This year will be a good one! Paul will have his Shirley. Who knows what SmittyJonz is going to show up with!
Jay, aka Ag76, is bringing his trailer mounted custom off-set. Mark and Connie are bringing a pellet pooper!
Andy is back along with Bubba. Frognot is going and hoping gtr and ssv3 can make it here from the Cali Brethren gang!
Along with many more.

Live stuff has kept me kinda inactive so checking in. Planning on meeting up with Sako and going to Franklin's Friday AM and will be at the Bash Saturday. My nephew Glenn (Gatordawg) will not be attending since he's coming to Texas next week to help out with the life stuff I mentioned earlier. His son-in-law Jake is hoping to attend unless he's in the field (He's in the Army at Fort Hood) along with his wife Celeste (my great niece).

Had a really great Tr-tip 101 Class at Greg's pig roast that was hosted by campdude and SoCalWJS so gonna do some tri-tip for sure. (Hoping to get even more tips from Sako.)

Start another round of immunotherapy this afternoon (runs for three weeks) and will be ready to party hardy with y'all farkers at the end of the month.

As cancer treatments go it's not that big a deal. Just feel like you have the flu and you can't be too far from a restroom for 24-48 hours. Been a year since the last round and will finish with one more round next year.

So will work on my Netflix queue and be lazy for a day or two.

Yeah, had to use my food saver bags because the pouches I got are a bit short for this kind of thing. Never would have managed this much liquid with the foodsaver; would have been a huge wet mess that would never seal. Can't wait to get my cook on in a couple of days!

How’d Franklins Go.?

Kinda a funny story. At 1000 I had a li'l syncope spell (fainting) inside Franklin's and went to ground while trying to pull a chair out. Didn't hit my head or pass out our have a seizure but since I paid there a few minutes they called 911. EMS checked me out and vitals and EKG so I passed on an ambulance ride. After lunch and touring pit area and meeting Aaron (will let Sako post the pics) I started having chest pains (which I might have ignored because not that bad and no other symptoms EXCEPT that syncope spell earlier so made a quick trip to the ER which was four minutes away).

So spent the afternoon getting a workup to heart attack, stroke, tumors, etc and everything was negative. Pretty sure that was not had planned on spending the day.

Good news: everything came back negative.

Bad news: not sure what that caused that so more tests in my future

Worst news: my daughter and her boyfriend are in route to drive me back home and I'll have to mess the bash.

Y'all take good care of Sako the next couple of days and find him things that are more fun than hanging out in ER waiting areas. He's a great guy and I really appreciate all he did today.

Bark is set HARD at 160! I'm tired, putting the brisket in a foil wrapped pan and taking a nap for a couple hours. Kinda a funny story. At 1000 I had a li'l syncope spell (fainting) inside Franklin's and went to ground while trying to pull a chair out. Didn't hit my head or pass out our have a seizure but since I paid there a few minutes they called 911. EMS checked me out and vitals and EKG so I passed on an ambulance ride. After lunch and touring pit area and meeting Aaron (will let Sako post the pics) I started having chest pains (which I might have ignored because not that bad and no other symptoms EXCEPT that syncope spell earlier so made a quick trip to the ER which was four minutes away).

So spent the afternoon getting a workup to heart attack, stroke, tumors, etc and everything was negative. Pretty sure that was not had planned on spending the day.

Good news: everything came back negative.

Bad news: not sure what that caused that so more tests in my future

Worst news: my daughter and her boyfriend are in route to drive me back home and I'll have to mess the bash.

Y'all take good care of Sako the next couple of days and find him things that are more fun than hanging out in ER waiting areas. He's a great guy and I really appreciate all he did today.

Hate to miss seeing you, but mostly glad you are OK.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Had a pretty good night's sleep and although I feel up for bashing my designated driver has a five year old's birthday party to attend this afternoon so will be heading home soon. Gonna give the cap I bought at Franklin's to my daughter's boyfriend for driving down so guess will have to go back there. The brisket is definitely one of my top two (want to side to side it with Louie Mueller's, which is where Aaron and many other great cooks have started out). Might take my great neice who's a nurse and a defibrillator with me next time however.

Looks like a perfect Fall day for a bash and I gave Sako something to share with y'all. I told my coworker Kevin and great nephew Jake to stop and I know y'all will treat em right.

Y'know, this aging thing sucks sometimes.

We missed those of our fellow Brethren this Fall that could not be there.
We understand that family events come up and sometimes the schedules just don't work out.

I couldn't find this thread; so I started a new one. Then, Paul sent me the link to this thread; so there's a double post unless an admin finds and kills the other one.

The day started a little chilly - in the low 40s - but turned into a beautiful, sunny day with highs in the mid 80s. It was a treat to meet and get to know the attendees a little better.

Thanks to Paul (pjtexas) and Hotch for organizing this get-together and to all the folks who came - from as far as California, Chicago, Arkansas, Louisiana and from many distant and near Texas locations. Thanks also to Jay (Ag76) for letting me share his smoker in my attempt to smoke a butt; (FAIL! Learn from my experience, you just don't have enough time to cook a whole, average sized butt from a raw state.)

I have to leave it to others to post pics.

Thanks again, Hotch, Paul and all who made the effort to come. I had a blast!!!

Well what a Great time! Want to Thank Paul (pjTexas1) and Family for the fine Hospitality they extended Friday night before the Bash. Paul cooked up some Delicious ABTs and Jay brought some serious good steaks. It was quite a feast! So good to Finally meet Brethren Sako and Robert. Sorry we missed you Charles, good move setting this one out. A Shout Out to the Lovely Ladies that were there, Miss Shelly and Miss Slebuss jones for sure! Hotch and Shelly whipped up a Delicious breakfast for everyone within an hour of arriving! Great Fun for all!
