View Full Version : Truvia/Pyure in Rub?

I'm thinking about making my own rub with an artificial sweetener such as Erythritol / Stevia blend, i.e. Pyure or Truvia.

Have any of you tried this? I'm diabetic and can't use anything with sucrose/fructose in it. Or perhaps another artificial sweetener might be good?

If not, I'll just stick to Texas style bbq rubs, without any sugar. Still like those fine. Just wondering.

Don’t forget Memphis style dry rib rub with usually is either sugar free or very low sugar.

I actually rarely use any sugars or sweeteners in my rubs even when not eating low sugar or low carb. I prefer the meat savory, and if I am going to add sweet besides corn bread or desserts, I do it with a sweet sauce.
