Which cut is most forgiving? Planning my first long cook and I'd love to hear some Brethren opinions!

Never used a pellet but butts are easy to get right. Brisket not so much.

Pork is more forgiving if you miss but brisket tasted way better.... I'd go brisket assuming you know the process.

Butts are hard to get wrong. Do that then a brisket 2nd.

Besides being my favorite, the pork is easier to do a good job on the first time! However, IMnotalwaysHO, the temperature regulation shouldn't be an issue since it is a pellet cooker, so your method will be your only problem. So if you really like brisket, and have a good recipe you might as well just do it and monitor the meat so you dont overcook it.

I mean its a pellet grill - just go with the brisket. Its not like you have to do anything while its cooking.

Brisket isn't as hard to cook as people like to make it out to be.

Pork is easier. Beef is tastier. If you know your meats, either one will be fine to start with.

First attempt, I’d definitely choose a pork butt!

Both. Can’t strike out on both... and as it’s a mak you’ll likely hit a home run on both...

Oddly enough my first cook was brisket followed by a pork butt. Both cooked on a Grilla Silverbac Alpha. Brisket turned out great. Pork butt.......not so much
