Hello I’m new to this forum and just finished building my first smoker, I went with a UDS and couldn’t be happier. So far I’ve done spare ribs 3 times and 1 tri-tip faux-brisket style, now I’m looking to do my first brisket.I found it at my local Costco here in the Los Angeles area at $3.99/lb for USDA prime and would like to know if this is typical.

I'd say that's a good deal, more expensive in my part of the country

If youre in LA maybe check Costco Business Center....seems like ssv3 is always scoring good deals there.

Thank you all I figured it was but wanted to get some feedback. I actually have a business center close so I will give them a look.
Yep same price at my Costco.

Same here in central IL Costco.
Over Memorial Day, the were almost double that! I was going to buy one and grind it for burgers at our little cookout. Ended up buying pre-ground beef as it was less $$ than any unground they had.

Note a bad price at all, especially for the location. In SE TX we can get prime for $3.29 at HEB and choice for $2 lb. not on sale but the prices are very good here.

Costco Business. Prime, choice, select, packers, flats......Black Canyon, IBP, Excel... A lot of selection and they sell cheaper than the regular clubs.

I just checked Costco Business Center and they have it for $3.69/lb..... I ran late today and it was closed so I will definitely get one for next week. What to you guys think about separating the flat and the point and freezing one for another cook. I can’t see me and my family consuming an entire brisket.

Separate after cooking, then freeze what you didn't eat.

Hi Dan. Do they have the whole packer there or just the flat? (In Teterboro, they just have the flats). Thanks!

Ditto. Especially if you're cooking your first brisket.

I get 3.99 a pound for Prime at Costco here in Indy too. And for me that’s a fantastic price! At Kroger we have Choice for 7.99 and that’s ridiculous!
