Going to be a sad weekend for me. Have to go to my Brother-In-Laws house. He may not even BBQ, and if he does, he'll use his Green Mountain pooper, so sad.

DerHusker has inspired me and Memorial day cook will be Pork Butt Al Pastor as he did amazingly well here: http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=272205

Guajilla chiles arrived in the mail yesterday. My wife will be handling the mango guacamole side

Sunday - thinking Neapolitan pies in the Blackstone.

Tomorrow is a barrel of smoked sausage - I've been contemplating ordering a few packs of sausage from Southside Market in Elgin TX and having it shipped up here to New England, with the hesitancy being spending $100 on sausage. Can anyone recommend?

Have a great holiday weekend Phu and Pharkers!

Happy Phriday, Pholks! Not sure if I feel up to cooking this weekend after getting my gallbladder removed on Wed, but if I do it will be brisket since Kroger has choice for $1.69. If nothing else, I'll grab one for the fridge.

I've got a Berkshire Boston butt I'll cook at some point...probably a steak or two...who knows what'll happen after I visit Sam's today. The weather doesn't look to be cooperative for the next 2 or so weeks.

The Minister has declared that we fire up the Fisk griddle for the phirst time and have smash burgers (or where I come from, burgers), so that's what we're doing.

I'm not sure yet. Right now I'm having a new roof put on my house (such a relief to get this done). I don't want to distract the roofers with thin blue aroma. :-D
I'm thinking maybe a brisket in the UDS on Sunday. Have a great weekend, everyone.

I'll have the house to myself this weekend as my wife is traveling to CA to visit her brother and meet our new nephew. Got the weekend to myself to finish working on my smoker and other projects I've got going on. If I can get my smoker done and seasoned in time, I'm planning on throwing a Tomahawk steak on, then finish that off direct on the kettle. Wonder if I should do hickory or cherry wood?

No idea! :noidea:

There's a gigantic Mexican grocery store near where I'm working right now, so I may go have a look over there and see what's up. If their meats are as good as the chips/salsa/guac they got there, then we're in for some great eats. And there will be wings!

Happy Phriday and Memorial Day weekend to Phu and crew and all y'all Pharkers!

Couple of Ribeyes on the kettle tonight.

Family requested some Thai-Inspired Ribs (https://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=256317) for tomorrow night's dinner.

Maybe I can talk the family into wings on Sunday, and we'll have fajitas on Monday night.

Great stuff ahead. Hope the storms miss you folks (and us).

Thin blue and kind regards.

Thanks John! Came a bit close to a friend's house last night. I watched the tornado on a storm chaser's live feed on my phone. (electricity was out) Hopefully we won't have a repeat tonight.
Have a safe weekend!

Gonna start a 9 lb pork butt tonight before I go to bed. Using the Trail Embers Smoker with the QMaster Senior ATC. Setting it at 225 deg. Gonna use cowboy lump with Apple wood chunks to start the cook. Then I plan on hanging a couple of racks of spares around 10:00 am. The son and his family will be stopping over around 2:00 to spend the day with us. I have a large pot of cowboy beans to put on and will probably do some moink balls for starters. Should be a good day to spend with family. At this time Sunday is open. Might have to see what I can scare up to cook. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
