After reading reviews here and research for over a year, I finally purchased a Blaz'n Gridiron from a local dealer here in Central La last Thursday.

I've been looking to get into the higher end of the spectrum of pellet smokers and move on from my small GMG DC grill. My DC worked well but it was limited in what it could do due to size.

The thing is built like a tank. So far the two cooks I've done on it have gone well. One of the things I will be using it for is bringing it to the two or 3 cooking comps I participate in a year with my team from work. Monday night, I did a test cook for ribs using my competition method and the ribs came out perfect (even better if that is possible!)

One thing I was really impressed with was how quiet the auger is. Coming from the DC where you could hear it from 3 houses down the lane, I couldn't even hear it when doing the initial prime procedure. If I had not been looking at it turning while priming it, I would not have believed it was actually on.

Here is a picture of it during the burn in procedure.

Overall, I am really pleased with the purchase. I've got an order in with Tim for the additional shelves and will be testing them out when they come in. I'll be trying out pork belly this weekend and making PB Burnt ends.

Thanks! I wasn't sold on the Copper Vein finish at first as I wanted all black or the silver color. However, once I got it home it grew on me. Especially after it cooked so well. Looking forward to getting more things cooked and smoked under it's belt in the near future.

It's nice to be able to do that for a change. With the stick burner, sometimes I would have a hard time finding the wood I want to use locally. Post Oak is as rare as platinum in these parts during this time of the year.

As luck would have it, my local Academy carries Post Oak Pellets so I'm set now!

I forgot to include this, but here is an obligatory food shot. This was at the end of an hour and a half of cooking. I had opened her up to check the temps on the country style ribs to see if they were ready for their braise. I was also checking out the color and pullback on the St. Louis rack as well.

I'm going to get so spoiled by this thing. I've been cooking on every cooker from stick burners to home made units and thing is spoiling me big time haha.

Excellent from my experience so far. I set my last cook to 275. After it reached temp, it really never dropped lower than 273 during the entire cook. And that was only briefly once or twice.
