My daughters 13th birthday and she wanted to go to Steak & Shake. I had another idea.

I love a good steak burger with those thin fries but #13 is a milestone and I wanted her to remember it. She asked for Steak & Shake for her B'day dinner and I said we could do that OR I could make a special B'day dinner for her. She chose my secret B'day dinner.
43oz tomahawk with baked potato and side salad. I've never done a cowboy rib eye so this was the perfect opportunity. I used a simple rub of Montreal and Lawry's AP and reverse seared it. Baked potato and a salad. It was so big I had to plate it on a cookie sheet. I think she will remember this. She said it's the biggest steak she's ever seen and went to town on it. There are leftovers for my lunch. :-D She also got her dog, we adopted him and his name is Peanut. Thanks for looking.

You’re a great dad and that’s a pretty young lady. My only grand daughter will be 13 in August and you have given me an awesome idea. That was a super steak. The finish and color was great.
