View Full Version : What is your food addiction?

I am sitting down to eat a few (with self control) Walkers, shortbread fingers. Wife asked if I need anything from Walgreens, and that is where I find them mostly. I have never been able to turn them down! Four ingredients: flour, butter, sugar and salt. Walkers makes the best shortbread you can buy. One of the food items, that I lose self control over. My list includes, pizza, Walkers shortbread, Oreos, and fresh doughnuts. I like bbq a lot but not to the point where I can't resist. What, if anything is your unresistable food/foods?

I forgot about that one. If I get a bag of Old Vienna Redhot Riplets, or the TGIF tato skins, I'm doomed! :ballchain:

Cracklins

I bought a bag in a gas station quite a few years ago, kind of excitedly because I like pork rinds, and they didn't impress me...maybe cracked some teeth? is there a good brand, or do you mean homemade?

A crisp Kale salad? Even though this is cliche, I can't resist good pork ribs. What can I say? I like the savory foods.

We eat fairly healthy over here - no processed or fast foods, but if I don't get a weekly fix of chips, salsa and tacos, then I'm not a happy camper. I need SOMETHING hot and spicy every 2 days or I go nuts. Also, gotta have pizza at least twice a month as well or same effect.

About a month ago I found these at Trader Joe's and decided to try them:

I almost ate a whole bag of them one night when the late night munchies hit! I have not bought them since...but since it was a while ago, I may want to get some more!

The food that pops into my my mind whenever I think of an evening meal is buttered white rice. Everything else may vary, but I have to make an effort to choose a different "starch" to go with it. And I have to put half of the batch right into the fridge or I'll eat the whole thing.

I'm also one of the people responsible for the continued existence of homemade oatmeal raisin cookies.
And peanut M&M's, but they have to be frozen.
And Tim Tams.

I could probably ride that boat with you! That and nigiri, if they weren't so expensive, would be a problem too.

Pizza for me. It痴 sad that even at Chinese buffets I知 the guy eating all the kid痴 pepperoni pizza. When visiting family in Brooklyn, I pretended to get stuff from the car only to make the trip downstairs for a New York slice. Like the guy slipping out to chain smoke. I need help.

Walmart sells a brand called Mac's. The Original flavor pork cracklins are pretty decent. I don't care for the other flavored ones. There is also a brand called smithfield farms pork cracklins that i really like but they are kinda pricey for how much you get in a bag.

Obviously the best is making your own. I make them whenever i buy a skin on picnic shoulder. But it is a bit labor intense. It would be smarter to save the skin and freeze to do in larger batches but then i'll just eat twice as much in one sitting, lol.
