Brethren-

I'm not sure why or how, but my local Tractor Supply store put a new un-opened "Trail Embers Fire Pit & Grill", model PIT7500AS on clearance for $90.

Their claimed normal price is @$300.00. Their website lists it at that price. Google shopping shows prices higher than that at all other retailers. I slept on it, knowing that I just bought a Lodge tripod, and I really didn't need another cooking implement. Next day, I drove back to the store, convinced that someone else had snatched it up, but it was still there, and thirty minutes later I was assembling it on my back patio.

I guess that the moral of this story is that we should all check out local US Tractor Supply Store storefronts for this or similar deals.

Also, does anyone have experience with this model? I figure a 70% discount is worth a gamble, but I would like to hear from others who have used it for cooking.

*edit to change "un-boxed" to "un-opened"

No experience with that product, but it sure looks solid. What is the purpose of the bowl? It looks like there's a charcoal grate in the bottom but I thought these were to be used over a fire pit?

Thing is...it itself is a fire pit as well as a grill (wood or charcoal). I burned the seasoning load of coals yesterday evening.
