I've never smoked a picnic shoulder. How do you guys approach it? Skin on or skin off? Any creative recipes?

When I have done a ham I like it bone in skin on I score it diamond shape and put pineapple on it- double smoke May or may not make a glaze I have never done a fresh ham and cured it

I smoke it skin on and exactly like I would smoke a Butt. :thumb:

Picnic is the bottom half of a shoulder (Butt is the top half)
Cook the same you would a butt.
I leave the skin on

As said above I leave the skin on and smoke it till probe tender, I've been smoking a lot of them lately because I prefer the meat off the picnic more than the Butt.
