Happy Phriday, Pholks! Probably going to go easy and grill up some brats tomorrow. Might change that up and grab a pack of Ballpark Prime Franks at Sam's Club if I am out that way in the morning.

08-24-2018, 07:38 AM
Good luck with the comp Phu!!!

It's a sad thing but no que this weekend.
We have a roots/blues-festival 5mins from our place this weekend, so today and tomorrow I will indulge in some beer and greasy food.
On Sunday we're eating out with my parents-in-law for their wedding anniversary.

08-24-2018, 08:01 AM
Briskey with some Oakridge Black Ops on Saturday. Maybe some wings on Sunday.

Good luck with the comp Phu and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Do what you do best at the comp Phu. Wings tomorrow, Sundays still up in the air.

Happy Phriday Phu and pharkers!

Nothing smoking this weekend. My Mum has been visiting from home for the last 3 weeks and she leaves on Sunday, which also happens to be our 13th Anniversary. I work tonight so Mum is making a salmon dish that she's been itching to try tomorrow night then the Minister and I are going to the local HardRock casino to make a donation.

Gotta baby shower/potluck dinner at work Monday night and the new daddy likes brisket so gonna do one Saturday (work Sun-Tues so it'll be chopped for sandwiches).

Might do some burnt ends since have extra chopped brisket vac-packed in freezer.

I'm preparing for a party for next weekend for my parents' 50th anniversary. So I'm going to do 6 pork butts and 6 whole chickens for sandwiches. My plan is to freeze it all right away, and reheat it next weekend.

This will be by FAR the biggest cook I've ever done!!

08-24-2018, 09:12 AM
Got some new rubs that need testing, so there's nothing for it but to pick up three slabs of ribs, which will also give us dinners for the coming week.

No Q tonight (ham and pinto beans craving). Per Sister Jeanie's recent Salmon post, think we're going to try some Tuna steaks on the BS oven Saturday. Not sure about Sunday yet.

Good luck at the comp, Phu! Sounds like a big event. Have a good weekend Ya'lls!

Finally getting some rest with a 4 day weekend. I'm cooking Malcolm Reeds oxtail recipe tonight and I have a 12lb butt and 10lb picnic for Sunday. I also got a great deal on 24 Johnsonville Italian sausages ($10). Gonna be a great weekend. College football is almost here.

Pork shoulder, fattys, and sausages Saturday. Rotisserie chicken Sunday. I look forward to this thread every Friday. Have a safe and fun weekend!

Gonna do 4 racks of beePh back ribs in my new-to-me pit barrel cooker (thanks again, Mike Twangzer!). And, since my young 'uns will be back from visiting their grands, wings will be back in full effect!

Happy Phriday and weekend to Phu and crew and all Y'all Pharkers and good luck to Lowland Smokers this weekend - wish I could be there and I miss y'all Pharkers!

Good luck with the tuna steaks Gary, sounds tasty!
If you use a pellet pouch, I poked holes in the pouch, used tongs and held it over the fire to get it smoking good before placing it next to the salmon and rice. I was impatient and wanted to get the smoke going fast.

Spent some time in the NE part of the US last week. Probably going to catch up on things around here. I'm over run with garden tomatoes... hope to can salsa this weekend.
Maybe smoke a chuck or brisket, something easy that doesn't need tending.

Hope you have a great weekend Phu and Brethren!

Bride 1 day golf trip with golf ladies Saturday. Guess it’s up to me to entertain myself.
I’ve started cherry picking the beautiful colored up Green Chile. So may hit a couple stores and get more. May do chicken wings and Conecuh Sunday. Green Chile Mac with tad of chopped and crisped brisket. A deep colored veggie. Kind of been hungry for a good chicken soup.

Pondering options.

08-25-2018, 12:05 AM
50 ft of smoked sausage snack stick rope.

08-25-2018, 02:15 AM
Chicken thighs tomorrow and maybe some sausages.
Not sure yet about the chicken marinade

We'll be getting together with a bunch of people to meet up with a mutual friend. Hope I remember to take pictures this time!
