I dont see why not. I would pressure wash it really good and then give it a good hot burn or two.

I have one of those big propane burning torch that should do a good job. I figure the diesel fuel has soaked into the metal over time. People build smokers out of the old home furnace oil tanks that is very close to Diesel from what I understand.

I wiould burn it out very good with a large wood fire in it..... then I would get it sandblasted
