Hunsaker cooks, and a pizza.

Started off this rainy day cooking a brisket just for the heck of it.

Some jets flew by several times, apparently training or something. Kept getting closer and closer. Pic doesn't do it justice as to how close they seemed. Almost like we could throw a baseball and hit them.

My wife came out at some point, and asked if pizza was an option for dinner. I thought I may incorporate my brisket even though I typically prefer a more traditional pizza.

Had to run to Kroger for some Murray's mozz, and was looking for something like pickled onions or something to go on the brisket pie. Found this corn relish.

Passed the taste test, and figured it would do well to cut the richness of the beef and cheese. It's got a nice vinegary punch.

Stretched the dough.

Topped with some fresh mozz, and some corn relish.

Added a bit of the chopped brisket, some low moisture mozz, a bit of parmesan, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce.

Into the Blackstone at about 600.

Topped with some chives from the herb garden. Best combo I've made in awhile. Highly recommend that (expensive) corn relish.

Couple of bonus shots.

Made some killer jerk chicken in the hunsaker yesterday. I have never used a better chicken cooker, and I've used alot of cookers.

Would have probably used the jerk chicken for a pie but sent leftovers home with my daughter after we had the grandkid for several days.

Great to see those A-10s overhead, and some really delicious-looking grub.

Rick's Picks makes some really nice stuff, but they charge an arm and a leg for it. That pizza combo looks simply awesome.

Yep, those are A10's, used to see them often here when they were stationed at Whiteman AFB with the B2's. Still see the B2's often, especially during football season.

I have not tried that. My hunch is that you would have a hard time with top heat to get the pizza done. There's really nothing to keep the heat from escaping the top. At least on a kamado which kind of has the same issues, there is some ceramic material that absorbs heat. The drum is essentially a trash can that cooks. Still worth trying to see though.
